New allegations about Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital are circulating on social media, regarding a sick Jewish child being mistreated by pro-Palestinian Nurses because the kid is Jewish.
The child’s uncle says “What the actual fu*k is going on? Is this the world we will live in? Is it 1940 again?
It is terrifying to be a Jew in the world again.”
Social media claims that Nurses identified the child as Jewish by seeing him visibly wearing his Jewish clothing known as Kippa and tzitzit.

The British-born, Israel-based child’s uncle whose details are unknown expressed his concerns on social media as ….
[“It has been on my mind for a few weeks now to write about the thoughts and feelings I (and probably many others in Israel) have been feeling with the “new normal” in Israel.
Instead, something happened today that made my blood boil and bothers me more than anything else I could have written about.
For those of you who know me, I’m originally from the UK and my whole family still lives there.
One of my nephews is 9 years old, living in Manchester.
He has a rare blood disorder which he has been dealing with most of his life.
This illness means that he needs to have a blood transfusion every month or 2 and he spends (alongside his mother, my sister) many days and hours in hospital.
Today he is at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.
As a religious Jewish family, my nephew wears his black Kippa (yamulka, religious hat whatever you want to call it) and his tzitzit proudly.
Not today.
Why you ask?
The nurses (NHS employees) are all walking around wearing “Free Palestine” pins and he was scared.
Beyond that, the last few times he went in he was denied correct medical care by the same couple of nurses every time.
This culminated the last time he went in, when my visibly Jewish, 9 year old nephew, with an autoimmune blood disease, was kicked out of his bay, by one of the nurses who was covered in Pro-Palestine badges and stickers, and due to that, had to lie on the floor with a canula in.
Now the damage is done and my proudly Jewish nephew (and his parents) is scared to not get treatment if he wears his Kippa and tzitzit.
Coincidentally, today when not visibly Jewish, he received quick care. Also worth noting, prior to the conflict he received excellent care.
What the actual fu*k is going on? Is this the world we will live in? Is it 1940 again?
It is terrifying to be a Jew in the world again.
(Picture 1 lying on the floor visibly Jewish last week. Picture 2 today, note the lack of anything showing he’s Jewish)
To be honest I’m not sure what can be done. At the very least I firmly believe that public medical healthcare professionals shouldn’t be wearing political pins that make people/children, scared/nervous/worry.
My ask? If you know someone in the NHS, public office in the UK please tag them in this post or send it to them.
Otherwise, please share this with the world. Maybe, just maybe, we can make a difference and another kid doesn’t have to endure this.”]
The Jewish Representative Council of Greater Manchester has taken a firm stance in response to distressing allegations, as announced on Twitter/X. In their statement, they declared that they had written to the chief executive officers of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Their aim was to express grave concern and demand immediate action in response to the allegations.
Additionally, the Council sought clarification regarding the Trust’s policy on staff wearing political statements on their uniforms. They expressed particular concern about Jewish patients potentially feeling intimidated while accessing care. This proactive approach demonstrates the Council’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the Jewish community within the healthcare system in Greater Manchester.
Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham told the Manchester Evening News: “I have seen the troubling reports shared on social media and have asked the Royal Children’s Hospital to launch an urgent investigation. No one should feel treated differently in our hospitals because of their race or religion.
“I’ve asked the hospital management to provide regular updates as they gather the facts.”
A spokesperson for Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust said to Jewish News: “We are aware of images and very serious claims which are circulating on social media.
“We are rapidly investigating these to establish the situation and are discussing them with the family involved. Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is committed to providing high quality care to all of our patients.”
